Aloe Vera Products
for Your Dog

Aloe Vera Gel or
Aloe Berry Nectar (1 litre)

The Gel is liquid and it's taken internally - about 60 mls per day in 2 doses for a standard-sized pooch for acute conditions, and 15 mls per day in 2 doses for maintenance. Adjust quantity up or down by the size of the animal and the results you get. Aloe Vera is non-toxic at any dose, you see, so you don't have to worry about that. It helps boost the immune system, enhances joint function, and can also help with problem skin conditions because it works at a cellular level. The Berry Nectar has cranberry in it, too, so it's the one you want for treating cystitis, kidney complaints, and for easing whelping.

Forever Freedom (1 litre)

And this is the one you want for arthritis and joint pains generally. It contains natural Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM, which combine with the anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties of Aloe Vera to give you a powerful product for your dog. Dosages as for Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Berry Nectar.

Aloe Vera Gelly (118ml)

The No.1 tube for anything that goes wrong on the skin, be it a cut, scrape, sore, sting, ringworm ... you name it. Aloe Vera penetrates through all the dermal layers to the tissue below, and works from the bottom up. Very effective for puncture wounds.

Aloe Propolis Creme (113g)

You'll find your teenager pinching this for her acne! It's the one which so many people find brilliant for eczema, sores, and indeed any wound that threatens infection. Safe for babies of all species, too. By the way, it's nice to know that it's not going to hurt your animal if he licks off any of these Aloe Vera products.

Aloe Veterinary Formula (473 ml)

100% pure stabilized Aloe Vera in a convenient spray bottle, this is the one for first aid, soothing and healing sore, irritated areas, and moistening bandages. Gives the coat a real shine when grooming. Keep it handy for whelping.

Aloe Vera Heat Lotion (118g)

Rub this into the skin over the joint 3-4 times daily. It is very important that it is applied directly onto the skin, which can be achieved by either folding the hair back or clipping it if necessary. The "hot herbs", accelerated by the Aloe Vera, encourage the blood supply to the area, so it's particularly useful for joints, ligaments and muscles. It's approved by the Jockey Club in the UK, by the way, for racehorses and their jockeys, so it's ok for competition dogs too, allowing for a 10-day healing period.

Aloe Sunscreen (118g)

Most dogs love sunbathing, but for some it can be positively harmful. Have you ever seen a dog or cat with white ears with crusts along the leading rim? That’s a form of skin cancer caused by too much sun on the unprotected edge. If the skin beneath the hair has no pigment this can happen. You’ve probably noticed on dogs’ and horses’ noses, where the skin is almost bare, sometimes they have a pink “map” under the white hair. This can get angry-looking, blistered and crusty. In dogs it’s known as Collie Nose.

A smear of Aloe Vera Sunscreen (with SPF30) every morning should help prevent the problem. And if it’s already crusty, you can use Aloe Veterinary Formula, or Aloe Vera Gelly to break down the crusts and clean the area.

Aloe-Jojoba Shampoo (237ml)

Normally, cats and dogs – indeed any animal – shouldn’t be washed more than maybe once or twice a year. A good brushing is all that’s needed. But there are special cases: dogs who are so soft and fluffy that they become a walking doormat if not looked after regularly; show animals, who need to look their best in the showring; and cats that have fallen in slurry tanks (yes, really! It’s twice she’s done it now). This Shampoo is gentle on their skin, won’t strip all the oils from their coats, and Aloe Vera helps to ward off fleas, to boot.

Aloe Liquid Soap (473 ml)

This is the one vets recommend for cleaning wounds or sores. And for whelping you can safely wash everything - mother and pups - with the Aloe Soap (it’s anti-bacterial too).

Bee Pollen (100 tablets – 500 mg each)

These tasty, chewy tablets are the natural way to deal with allergies, and really put a spring in your dog's step! They boost energy and stamina and have been found particularly useful by sportsmen for putting depth into their game. So if you are involved with showing dogs, or work your dog in competition, why not all benefit from this terrific energy source? And if you need to stay awake in the small hours waiting for a bitch to whelp, the Bee Pollen is invaluable.

Forever Bright Toothgel (130g)

Lots of dogs and cats who are fed soft mushy foods all their lives are now presenting with horrible, smelly, plaque-covered teeth. So if they won’t change their diet, you’ll have to attend to their teeth. The plaque removal is probably a job for your vet, but you can help to soften it up in advance by rubbing in Aloe Vera Gelly. After treatment, you can use the Toothgel regularly. Lots of meaty bones are the natural way to prevent this problem in the first place - see Dog Feeding.

And I’m told that Aloe Vera Toothgel was the only one to effectively clean the teeth of captive Killer Whales! You probably won’t need this information … but it’s nice to know – in case of emergency ...
